In 2022, Matteo began his photography studies at the John Kaverdash Academy in
Milan, Italy, specializing in visual storytelling. During his time there, he started working
on Traceurs, a long-form photo essay capturing the dynamic world of parkour from
the perspective of Milan's community. Over the next three years, Matteo documented
parkour events and communities across France, Portugal, Spain, the Czech
Republic, and the United States-the project was featured on the cover of Kipa
magazine.

In 2023, he furthered his education by enrolling in the one-year Documentary
Practices and Visual Journalism program at the International Center of Photography.
While there, he produced Nocturnal Creatures, a multi-layered photo essay
documenting the Nocturnal Creatures Society, a rave collective known for hosting
underground events in New York and New Jersey. The project integrated
photographs, interviews, scanned sketches, and handwritten quotes from
participants, as well as four pieces of paper that were affixed to the dancefloor to
capture ravers' footprints during the events.

From May to July 2024, Nocturnal Creatures was exhibited at the ICP Museum as an
interactive installation. A DJ deck connected to Lightroom controlled a display screen,
allowing visitors to manipulate image parameters-such as shadows, highlights, and
saturation-by interacting with the deck's buttons and dials.
